The project arose from the need to create a covered area for children, capable of hosting activities 365 days a year regardless of weather conditions. The new roof is the addition of an element to an existing playground, thus complementing the rest of the recreational areas that make up this urban space.
The new pieces seek to provide a harmonious, non-invasive and restrained response within the environment in which they are located. To this end, aspects such as transparency, lightness and scale are worked on. In this sense, it seeks to escape from the idea of the pavilion by adopting an image more in line with the recreational use to which it is associated.
The project consists of two light pieces in response to the areas to be covered – two separate play areas of different sizes, creating separate volumes that follow the same aesthetic line and construction system.
