The project for the construction of 10 social housing units in Arrankudiaga-Zollo is conceived as a domestic-scale intervention, integrated into the urban fabric and topography of the Elexalde neighborhood, and designed specifically to respond to the conditions of public rental housing.

The building’s layout adapts to the slope of the plot, fragmenting its volume through a series of gabled roofs that evoke a small-scale residential setting. The interior layout is organized around a gallery typology, allowing for double-oriented dwellings with cross ventilation, while also creating a clear, accessible, and safe community space.

From a construction and environmental point of view, the project opts for a mixed structural system with cross-laminated timber (CLT) and industrialized dry solutions, prioritizing energy efficiency, reducing the environmental footprint, and optimizing construction processes. The high-performance envelope and individual energy systems allow for a low-consumption building that is easy to manage and adapted to everyday use.
